"Ein guter Fang" translates "a good catch". Maybe that convinced me to take it home from the flea market 30 years ago. Going through the first tracks this promo comp really felt like a bad catch. Then came the first hit: an instrumental version of Santana's Black Magic Woman that sounded as if came straight from a Dorothy Ashby album (it was Harald Winkler). After a few crappy tunes the next one, this one even bigger: a superfunky and megasleazy song about Bobybuilders with just the right amount of words needed (for bodybuilders?). And finally a superb spanish version of Do You Know The Way To San Jose by the highly talented Caterina Valente. A good catch!

OOOMPF! The title track's almost 5 minute intro does not prepare anyone for the literally mental tune that drops almost all over sudden. I see people SCREAMING in flashing lights... Planet 3 is another tunnel, but the pace is a little slower and there are puddles of acid here and there. Amazonas is a hypnotic and timeless trance gem. Superb work by Anthony Rother and Matthias Geist!
