I am not saying that this album is lacking the cheey bits that even a romantic like me cannot take, but the interesting tracks where Simon leaves the mannered chansony comfort zone are in the majority! It sounds like it might have been influential to a certain Monsieur Tellier...

We step into a pristine wilderness on the B-side, stately pads gliding over a supple rhythm section while tender chimes tug at your heartstrings. Emotion abounds on an instrumental which never was. Big boys do cry, and this dove’s weeping over broken wings…
