Eddie Kendricks - People...Hold On

Style: Soul Hymns

Format: LP
Label: Tamla (NL)

Year: 1973

Condition: VG+/VG+ small tear on front

From the golden age of funky soul here comes Eddie with his masterpiece album (recorded one year before his Temptation's "Masterpiece" album). I count four mindblowers on this one.  Starting with flowery Funk in If You Let Me, that the heads will love for the memories of Brooklyn Battles. Then comes a strong call for endurace in the deep soul hymn My People...Hold On. If that wasn't enough already Eddie adds the midtempo floorfiller and Larry Levan fave Girl You Need A Change Of Mind. Then we're throwing away our umbrellas because of that incredibly funky Date With The Rain (a thematic variation of I Wish It Would Rain?)

THIS is a strong VG+ copy with an inaudible (play-tested) scuff on B1 :)

LISTEN! LISTEN! LISTEN! LISTEN!

Back on the market. The buyer was not capable of reading...

This is a great sounding dutch copy with a lovely laminated cover.

I have ripped it today and it's close to a NM record!

Chris Reynolds - Strings And Swing

Style: Library Funk

Format: LP
Label: Intersong

Year: 197?

Condition: NM/VG+

The cover doesn't look very promising but it holds one of the sickest funky libraries recorded in Germany. Seriously! Infectious grooves, crime scene funk, cheese disco, etc it's all there! Most diggers are after the Munich Big Band on the same label, but this one here is even better imho. Listen and you'll hear!!

LISTEN! (low res soundfile, the record sounds marvellous)
