Various - JaZzENd 1

Style: Private Pleasures / Jazz Funk / Latin Jazz

Format: LP
Label: Not On Label

Year: 1989

Condition: NM/VG

This wonderful private compilation is almost invisible. I am on the hunt for copies since i found mine in the late 90s but hardly anything pops up. Too bad, because it's filled with excellent "Jazz Funk made in Germany".

The most prominent might be Chinchilla's Don't Kill Your Fantasy which appeared on a reissue compilation ten years ago. Check the tracks by Jazz On Line and Chamäleon as well (in the second clip)

Various - Munich Latin

Style: Latin Jazz

Format: LP
Label: Feierwerk

Year: 1988

Condition: NM/VG+

A private compilation presenting unknown Latin Jazz groups from late 80s Munich? Yes, please! There's three or four afro cuban tunes on this album that I can't talk about much since i don't understand it - too fast for me. But what I can tell you: it doesn't sound bavarian at all ;) The reason for buying this album are these two wonderful songs by Quintessenz who are actually only borderlining the term Latin Jazz. Their Ludenhausen, with that irresistible waltzy feel, might be the HIT of the album! Closely spaced with Kariba's Demasiado with a groove that sets you in motion instantly....

Does brazillian music also count as balearic, or is this called tropical?

Whatever it's called it gives me shivers everytime i listen to it.

So damn beautiful - and in magnificent shape too!!

Fisherman's Walkband - Recuerdos

Style: Latin spiced Krautrock

Format: LP
Label: Not On Label

Year: 1984

Condition: NM/VG+  woc

Signed copy of the Walkband's second and in my opinion best album. That might explain why it's so much harder to find their first. This album her goes a bit deeper than Suerte. Of course it's including those latin jazzrock tunes that you want to hear from a Latin Jazzrock combo, but they also have these more spiritual (in terms of jazz) and deep tunes like Peace and My Kind Of Raga this time...

Renato Anselmi - It Had To Be You

Style: Trio Jazz / Bossa

Renato Anselmi of Emphasis fame on keayboards featuring polish bass player Roman Dylag (Komeda, Kurylewicz. Karolak, Urbaniak) and Kurt Treier (Emphasis, Peter Jacques Trio, Roby Weber Quartet). They play very relaxed versions of classics and some of Anselmi's compositions with that easy Peter Jacques vibe to it...

The Butterflies - Softly For Dancing

Style: Bossa Nova / Easy

Format: LP
Label: Karussell

Year:

Condition: NM/VG+

Horribly lovely cover, huh? This is kind of a best of  from the rare Butterflies libraries on Golden Ring. Scatt-happy Bossa tunes galore. And a whole lot of cheese as well. But the taste is amazing if you can take the sweetness. Especially their modal version of the german bedtime song Guten Abend Gute Nacht!

W. Haberl - Invocation Et Danse

Style: Late Night Bossa / Mediterrenean Wizardry

Format: LP
Label: Domino (Private)

Year: 19??

Condition: NM/NM

Half of the tracks of this amazing album here are Villa-Lobos compositions - Leaving enough playtime for some self-penned songs by Haberl and his comrad Hubert Waldner, who also plays flutes and saxophone. And then there are these wonderful vocals by some lady called D.B. One that will not only make collectors of italian 70s soundtracks cry. This beauty is out of this world!!
